Medical InsuranceWe offer two health insurance options; a qualified Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and a Point of Service (POS) plan. The Firm pays a portion of the monthly cost for all types of coverage: individual, two person and family.
Dental InsuranceOptional dental insurance is available to employees at a discounted group rate.
Short-term Disability Bank We provide a short-term disability bank to accommodate employees who become sick or disabled for an extended period of time, including maternity leave. This leave helps bridge the waiting period before you become eligible for long term disability benefits. Time is awarded based on length of service.
Long-term Disability Insurance BlumShapiro offers long-term disability insurance protection at no cost to employees.
Cafeteria Medical Plan & Dependent Care Plan The Firm has established a plan that allows individuals to pay medical insurance premiums with pretax income. Employees may also elect to deduct for dependent care expenses on a pretax basis.
Life Insurance We offer a group life insurance plan for all eligible full-time employees. Life insurance is provided by the firm at no cost to the employee. Employees may also purchase additional life insurance at a discounted rate though a voluntary group term life insurance plan.
Holidays We have nine paid holidays each year, including three flexible floating holidays.
Vacation All regular employees are eligible for annual vacation. Staff accountants with more than one full year of service are eligible for three weeks of vacation; and, senior level accountants and above are eligible for four weeks.
Long-term Care Insurance We offer the option for employees to purchase long-term care insurance to cover the costs associated with care in a professionally licensed home or community care facility. Eligible full-time employees are able to purchase coverage for themselves and/or qualifying members of their family.
401(k) Retirement Plan The purpose of BlumShapiro's retirement plan is to help eligible employees supplement their retirement income. Eligible employees may voluntarily contribute a portion of their earnings to one of several investment choices. Employees qualify for a matching employer contribution after two years of service.
Profit Sharing Plan We offer a profit sharing plan for employees who have completed two years of service.
Performance Bonus Staff and seniors are eligible for a biannual performance bonus, which is based on successfully meeting Firm goals.
We also offer a generous Tuition Reimbursement Program, extensive In-house Continuing Professional Education, an Employer Referral Program and a program to help you meet the 150 hour requirement for the Connecticut CPA license.
