Continuing Professional Education
We provide a comprehensive continuing education program consisting of 120 hours of training over a three
year period. A wide selection of in-house courses are available. The Firm also provides reimbursement
for approved travel and lodging when you attend out-of-town programs.
Educational Reimbursement
Blum Shapiro encourages the pursuit of graduate studies in accounting, taxation, and other programs
related to our activities. Reimbursement for graduate study, which ranges from 50% to 100%, is
dependent upon length of service.
CPA Examination
To assist you in studying for the CPA exam, we provide Micromash CPA Review Software which includes more
than 2,000 multiple choice questions and allows you to customize your study session to match your needs.
This package is available for a nominal fee. In addition, the firm provides two paid days to prepare for
the exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, the Firm will award you an amount of money to assist
with exam fees, out-of-pocket expenses, and study materials.
Other Benefits
Career Counseling Embarking on a new career can be full of uncertainty. At Blum Shapiro, you will have an
advisor-a manager or supervisor who is available to provide career guidance and offer periodic feedback on
performance. New staff accountants are also assigned to a buddy who is an experienced staff or senior
accountant and who is available to answer day-to-day questions.
Professional Societies
The involvement in professional societies enhances personal growth and professional development. The Firm
encourages individuals to join these organizations and reimburses certain membership fees.
