As Chief Executive Officer, Joe leads the strategic and operational activities and is responsible for the overall stewardship of blum. Joe focuses on the development and execution of the firm’s strategy including mergers and acquisitions, professional development, client experience, operational excellence and firm culture.
Joe began his career with blum in 2007 serving in several leadership roles including Industry Leader for the Government practice, Managing Partner of blum’s West Hartford, CT office, Partner In Charge of Marketing and Development and two terms on the firm’s Executive Committee.
Prior to joining blum, Joe served as a partner with Scully & Wolf, LLP advising on complex accounting, auditing and public policy matters, and interacting frequently with other government agencies.
Joe is a frequent speaker on issues impacting the accounting profession and topics affecting New England business and the economic landscape.
Joe is also a member of our Women Who Lead Social Network, which includes a wide range of senior-level blum personnel actively helping to clear advancement barriers for women through guidance, coaching and advocacy—as well as offering honest feedback and advice to all blum employees about how to support the women they work with.
Joe is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (UCONN). He serves on the board of directors of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) and the Connecticut Council of Small Towns. Joe also holds positions on the Government Relations and Public Policy Committee and Legislative Affairs Council of the MetroHartford Alliance, and is active in the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, a group advocating on behalf of the accounting profession, fostering a professional community among CPAs and providing a variety of membership services for CPAs in Connecticut.
