As a principal in blum’s Tax Department, Laura has over thirty years of experience providing tax compliance and advisory services for public charities, higher educational institutions, private schools, cultural institutions, foundations, associations, healthcare and other non-profit organizations.
Laura provides tax compliance and tax advisory services to tax-exempt clients throughout New England, advising clients on a full range of tax matters including fundraising activities, charitable contribution issues, compensation, employment tax, governance, policies, disclosures, quality reporting and tax compliance.
She is a subject matter expert with regard to unrelated business income, intermediate sanctions, public support status and tax exemption matters for tax-exempt clients. Laura is a contributing author to Taxation of Exempts and has led several educational sessions regarding tax developments for the tax-exempt community, including matters relating to Form 990, executive compensation and fringe benefits, charitable contributions, unrelated business income, and alternative investment tax responsibilities generated from endowments.
Prior to joining blum in 2016, Laura was a tax manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s Exempt Organization Tax Services group as well as a director at Grant Thornton LLP’s Higher Education and Not-for-Profit practice.
