BlumShapiro, the largest regional business advisory firm based in New England with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, hosted a Networking and Interview Skills Workshop for college students with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Greater Hartford Chapter on September 21

blumshapiro, the largest regional business advisory firm based in New England with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, hosted a Networking and Interview Skills Workshop for college students with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Greater Hartford Chapter on September 21, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the firm’s West Hartford, CT, corporate headquarters.

The event included sessions led by BlumShapiro on networking, interviewing skills and personal branding.

“We are pleased to host a full day workshop that addresses critical career development skills and in an environment that offers valuable networking opportunities,” said Joseph A. Kask, chief executive officer of BlumShapiro. “It is incumbent on us to help develop the next generation of leaders in an industry experiencing great change.  NABA is a great source of future potential for us.”

“Bringing future Black accounting professionals together in a focused, single day workshop is a great way to learn and prepare students for future success in a welcoming, inclusive environment,” said Gregory B. Chambers, senior consultant at BlumShapiro and NABA Greater Hartford Chapter member. “I thank my employer BlumShapiro for hosting the workshop.”

The event will include students from the University of Connecticut and Eastern Connecticut State University, among others.
