WEST HARTFORD, CT – September 5, 2019 – Stephanie Kasson, CPA, MST, a tax manager at blumshapiro, has been selected as one of the 2019 Emerging Leaders by the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce.

WEST HARTFORD, CT – September 5, 2019 – Stephanie Kasson, CPA, MST, a tax manager at blumshapiro, has been selected as one of the 2019 Emerging Leaders by the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce.

The award recognizes Kasson and others under 40 years of age who demonstrate dedication to their profession through leadership, dedication and individuality; support the advancement of their communities through volunteer service; and exhibit character that results in a positive impact to other emerging leaders on a professional and personal level.

“Stephanie is clearly a rising star and exhibits outstanding leadership.  She has consistently given back to the profession with her level of dedication and commitment in serving clients in Connecticut at the highest level.  In addition to serving her clients, Stephanie is involved with several blumshapiro committees, including our Transaction Advisory Group and Finding blum’s Way Committee.  She also mentors staff and seniors within the firm and is involved in our campus recruiting efforts.  Stephanie truly cares about making the firm, our clients and our employees better by empowering and encouraging them to step forward and create success,” said Jay Sattler, Managing Partner, tax services, at blumshapiro.

As a manager in blum’s tax department, Kasson specializes in serving closely held businesses and their owners, ranging from compliance to specialized transactions and tax planning.

Kasson joined blumshapiro in 2014, and has experience in various organizations, such as partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations and individuals.  Her clients span a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, retail, real estate and automotive.

Kasson’s involvement in the community includes serving on the board of directors of Interval House, as a founding and committee member of the Connecticut Financial Advisory Council and being a member of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.  She also volunteers with other blum employees in Junior Achievement programs that teach financial literacy fundamentals to elementary school students.
